Data You Give Us Directly
Information typed into a search form, such as a name, phone number, or address, is sent to the third-party provider that operates the results tool. Duarte Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. If a reader sends a message, the contact mailbox receives the details included in that message and uses them to respond or route the question.
Data We Gather Automatically
Hosting systems may record ordinary server-log details, including IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. Aggregate review can help maintain the pages and show which resources are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where present, advertising measurement. The exact handling of those tools can be governed by the provider that supplies them.
How Information Is Used
Contact information is used to answer a message, maintain the service, protect its operation, understand general traffic, and meet a valid legal obligation. Search entries are handled by the provider that powers the results. Duarte Residents Directory does not use a reader's message to change a county roll, court file, voter record, deed, directory, or vital record.
Links to Other Websites
Pages link to government portals, libraries, archives, courts, and third-party services. Each outside service sets its own privacy policy, terms, cookies, retention practices, and security controls. Follow the privacy notice of the destination before submitting information there.
Who Might See Your Data
Hosting and technical providers may process server logs to keep the service running. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic information described above. A valid legal process may require disclosure. The public records discussed on the site remain under the control of the agency, court, library, archive, or other custodian that holds them.
How We Protect Information
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used for the small amount of contact and operational information handled by the service. No Internet transmission or storage method is guaranteed to be completely secure. Do not send sensitive identity documents or confidential record details through an ordinary contact message.
Users Under 18
The service is not directed at children under 13, and readers under 18 should use it with a parent or guardian. Do not submit another person's personal information unless there is a lawful reason and the submission is appropriate for the receiving service.
Your Data Rights
California's Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, may give covered consumers rights to know, access, correct, delete, limit certain sensitive-data uses, and opt out of sale or sharing, subject to statutory exceptions. The Delete Act also creates a state process directed at registered data brokers. Because the service keeps little direct information, a request will generally involve checking the contact mailbox and applicable server logs. Use the Contact page to ask.
The California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 and following, governs records held by state and local agencies. Those government records are outside the service's control. Requests to correct, seal, redact, or remove an official record must go to the custodian, such as Los Angeles County, Duarte City Hall, a court, or a library collection.
Updates to This Policy
Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date when appropriate. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies to future use of the service.
